The Gophers tumbled another spot to No. 8 in the USCHO poll on Monday despite having the weekend off. In-state rival Minnesota Duluth split with Michigan Tech and moved ahead of the Gophers at No. 7.

Boston University returns to No. 1 and North Dakota falls to No. 2 after a weekend split with No. 11 Denver. Minnesota State, Harvard and Michigan Tech round out the USCHO Top 5.

The Gophers are no longer the Big Ten's only ranked team with Penn State climbing into the poll at No. 20.

Most of college hockey will be off until after Christmas and the Gophers return in the New Year for the Mariucci Classic, Jan. 2-3.

The Gophers women's hockey team enters their winter break ranked No. 2 in the USCHO poll and on a nine-game winning streak.
