Lawyers for LeSean McCoy have asked a judge in Georgia to throw out a lawsuit filed by the Buffalo Bills running back’s former girlfriend that accuses him of failing to protect her from a violent home invasion. The lawsuit filed last month by Delicia Cordon alleges that McCoy failed to protect her after she was bloodied,

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is defending himself against allegations that he abused his 6-year-old son. He is calling the allegations "ridiculous" and says they're being made by people with something to gain.

McCoy spoke after practice Wednesday, a day after being called "a monster" by his son's mother in a court document filed in Georgia.

Stephanie Maisonet also said she agreed to defend McCoy against allegations of abuse made by his ex-girlfriend even though she said she knew the accusations to be true. Maisonet said she made the deal only after McCoy offered to drop a custody case.

McCoy responded by accusing Maisonet of having something to gain. He said he loves his son and is still fighting for custody.

McCoy's playing status is uncertain for Sunday's game against the Vikings. He hurt his ribs in a loss to the Chargers last weekend.

Keenum says he'll play

Case Keenum said he'll be back directing Denver's offense Thursday after missing Wednesday's workout because of a sore knee.

"I woke up Monday a little sore," Keenum said. "I could have practiced today. I wanted to practice today, but they wouldn't let me. So, a good mental day, come back and be ready to go tomorrow."

Although Keenum has thrown four interceptions already after getting picked off just seven times last year in Minnesota, he's led the Broncos to their sixth straight 2-0 start with a pair of fourth-quarter comebacks.

Etc.

• The Lions signed cornerback DeShawn Shead, a possible indication they're not certain cornerback Darius Slay will be cleared to play against New England.

• The Eagles signed receiver Jordan Matthews and placed Mike Wallace on injured reserve.

• Receiver Julio Jones was held out of practice because of a calf injury. Running back Devonta Freeman (sore right knee), who missed last week's win over Carolina, also did not practice Wednesday.

• Texans' quarterback Marcus Mariota has numbness and tingling in two fingers of his throwing hand, making it hard to grip the ball. Mariota hurt his elbow in a season-opening loss at Miami.

• Browns top receiver Jarvis Landry is questionable to play in Thursday night's game against the Jets because of a knee issue.

In this photo taken Monday, March 6, 2017, in San Francisco, released confidential files by The University of California of a sexual misconduct case, like this one against UC Santa Cruz Latin Studies professor Hector Perla is shown. Perla was accused of raping a student during a wine-tasting outing in June 2015. Some of the files are so heavily redacted that on many pages no words are visible. Perla is one of 113 UC employees found to have violated the system's sexual misconduct policies in rece
