The Twin Cities' eonomic recovery is slightly above average compared to the rest of the nation, according to the latest Metro Monitor report from the Brookings Institution.
Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington fell from 36th to 38th in the recovery rankings. The metro area compares well to the rest of the nation in job recovery. Unemployment is lower here and job creation more robust than in a majority of the 100 metro areas Brookings monitors. The metro's unemployment rate ranks 26th among the cities, and employment ranks 36th.
The Twin Cities compare less favorably when it comes to economic output, where it ranks 57th. A new state jobs report comes out tomorrow at 10 a.m.
