James Conner ran for 145 yards and a touchdown, and Mason Rudolph overcame a shaky start to throw for 251 yards and two scores as host Pittsburgh pulled away for a 27-14 victory over lowly Miami on Monday night.

The Steelers (3-4) spotted the Dolphins (0-7) a 14-point first-quarter lead before rallying. Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, acquired from Miami last month, picked off Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick twice, and Pittsburgh forced four turnovers.

Deadline dealing

The New York Jets traded defensive lineman Leonard Williams to the Giants for a third-round draft pick next year and a fifth-rounder in 2021, according to a person with direct knowledge of the deal.

Williams, 25, was the No. 6 overall pick in 2015, but he never lived up to his lofty draft status.

The NFL trade deadline is at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

• Arizona acquired running back Kenyan Drake from Miami for a conditional sixth-round draft pick in 2020. Drake provides some needed depth, as David Johnson and Chase Edmonds are injured and the Cardinals face undefeated San Francisco on Thursday.

• The Browns agreed to trade linebacker Genard Avery to Philadelphia for an undisclosed 2021 draft pick.

Etc.

• Denver quarterback Joe Flacco has a herniated disk in his neck that puts his season and possibly his career in jeopardy and leaves a dysfunctional Broncos offense in the hands of a trio of quarterbacks who have never taken a regular-season NFL snap. Coach Vic Fangio only ruled out Flacco for next weekend. Brandon Allen, claimed off waivers last month, will get his first NFL start vs. Cleveland.

• The Los Angeles Chargers fired offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt, shaking up the coaching staff after a disappointing first half of the season. Whisenhunt, the former coach at Tennessee and Arizona, had been Chargers offensive coordinator since 2016.

• Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley will miss five to six more weeks as he continues to deal with a groin injury.
