Phil Mickelson avoided the rain, Jordan Spieth endured it, and each would up atop the leaderboard Friday at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California.

Mickelson, Spieth, Lucas Glover, Paul Casey and Scott Langley were tied for the lead when the second round was suspended because puddles had formed on greens.

Mickelson, who didn't miss a fairway Thursday, lost his lead Friday when he missed three consecutive fairways starting with No. 15 and got three consecutive bogeys. He closed with a birdie for a 4-under 68 at Spyglass Hill. The weather worsened as he exited.

"I'm lucky to get done now and get the round over with," he said. "Guys unfortunately are still out there playing in some tough stuff."

Mickelson is 10-under 133. Glover started strong in tame weather at Pebble Beach and shot a 6-under 66 to get to 10-under 134, while Langley (69 at Spyglass Hill) and Casey (7-under 64 at Monterey Peninsula) finished at 10-under 133 just ahead of the horn that stopped play for the rest of the day.

Spieth shot 31 over his first nine at Spyglass Hill and was among 44 players who will return Saturday morning, weather permitting. He has two holes to play.

Skiing

Crowd is one short for Vonn's final race

Lindsey Vonn's father, two siblings and even Swedish great Ingemar Stenmark will be in Are, Sweden, to watch Vonn's final race Sunday, but one significant other will be missing.

P.K. Subban, Vonn's boyfriend and a defenseman for the NHL's Nashville Predators, has a game to play in Tennessee on Sunday hours after Vonn bids skiing goodbye in the downhill at the world championships (5:25 a.m., NBCSN).

"I would've liked to be there for that and celebrate with her," Subban said. "I've got to do the best I can to support her from afar."

Holdener repeats as champ

• Swiss racer Wendy Holdener retained her Alpine combined title at the world championships in Are, Sweden, by beating Petra Vlhova by 0.03 seconds.

Luge: Olympic silver medalist Chris Mazdzer will miss the World Cup finale, cutting his season short because of a neck injury.
