Brendon Todd maintains lead in St. Jude Invitational

Brendon Todd shot a 1-under 69 on Saturday at the FedEx St. Jude Invitational to take a one-stroke lead into the final round of the World Golf Championship event.

Todd started the third round with a two-stroke lead and had five birdies and four bogeys to put him at 13-under 198 in Memphis.

He's looking for his fourth career victory and third since last fall. This is Todd's second 54-hole lead since the PGA Tour's return to play. He shot a 75 in the final round of the Travelers Championship and tied for 11th.

Merritt seizes lead

Troy Merritt made two late birdies to take a four-point lead into the final round of the PGA Tour's Barracuda Championship in Truckee, Calif.

Merritt, formerly of Spring Lake Park and Winona State, scored 14 points in the modified Stableford scoring system. He has a total of 33 points.

• Branden Grace tested positive for the coronavirus, a double blow. He was one birdie off the lead at the Barracuda Championship and now can't play in the PGA Championship.

• Danielle Kang salvaged a 1-over 73 and tied Celine Boutier (71) and Jodi Ewart Shadoff (72) atop the LPGA Drive On Championship in Toledo, Ohio.

• Brett Quigley shot an 8-under 64 at Warwick Hills in Grand Blanc, Mich., and took a one-shot lead in the PGA Tour Champions Ally Challenge.
