Dodgers left fielder Joc Pederson followed through on his third-inning home run during Friday night’s Game 3 of the World Series against the Red Sox. Pederson’s blast off righthander Rick Porcello stood up as the only run through seven innings, but Boston tied it in the eighth inning when Jackie Bradley Jr. homered off Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen. The score was tied 1-1 in the top of the ninth inning at deadline of this edition of the Star Tribune. (The Minnesota Star Tribune)

Dodgers reliever Pedro Baez — and the Dodger Stadium crowd — reacted after Red Sox baserunner Ian Kinsler — who was nearly thrown out at first and third — was tagged out at the plate trying to score on a fly ball by Eduardo Nunez during the 10th inning. Cody Bellinger’s laser throw home from center field nabbed Kinsler, and the score of Game 3 of the World Series remained tied 1-1 in the 13th inning at deadline of this edition of the Star Tribune. DAVID J. PHILLIP and MARK J. TERRILL • Associated Press AN ADVENTURESOME 13TH Why was Friday night’s World Series game the longest in terms of time in major league history? Because of a strange 13th inning involving ex-Twins infielder Eduardo Nunez. In the top of the inning (top), he reached on an infield single, and pitcher Scott Alexander’s throw got away from Kiké Hernandez, enabling Brock Holt to score from second; in the bottom of the inning (below), Nunez fell into the stands catching Cody Bellinger’s foul ball for the second out, enabling baserunner Max Muncy to advance a base. Muncy then scored the tying run when Boston second baseman Ian Kinsler threw Yasiel Puig’s two-out grounder away. The score remained tied 2-2 in the 15th inning — setting a World Series record for innings — at deadline of this edition of the Star Tribune. (The Minnesota Star Tribune)

In this photo taken Monday, March 6, 2017, in San Francisco, released confidential files by The University of California of a sexual misconduct case, like this one against UC Santa Cruz Latin Studies professor Hector Perla is shown. Perla was accused of raping a student during a wine-tasting outing in June 2015. Some of the files are so heavily redacted that on many pages no words are visible. Perla is one of 113 UC employees found to have violated the system's sexual misconduct policies in rece
