Book in brief Knitters ready to graduate from basic stocking caps and scarves will be thrilled to learn that needlework guru Debbie Stoller has a new book out. "Stitch 'n Bitch Superstar Knitting" (Workman, $18) offers 21 new techniques in her trademark simple-to follow patterns. Designs include a skull-patterned kids cardigan, a lace skirt and a collection of fashion-forward tops. Stoller will be making two appearances on Thursday, Nov. 4. She'll be at Needlework Unlimited, 4420 Drew Av. S. in Minneapolis, at 4 p.m., and at the Roseville Barnes & Noble store, 2100 N. Snelling Av. at 7 p.m.
