A body was spotted late Tuesday morning near the Mississippi River on the edge of the University of Minnesota campus, authorities said.
Passersby alerted police about 11:10 a.m. to the body under the Washington Avenue Bridge along W. River Parkway, according to a spokeswoman for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board.
Campus police were coordinating removal of the body, the Park Board spokeswoman said.
There is no immediate word on the body’s identity or the circumstances surrounding the death.
