Cottage Grove's new post office is set to open Monday at 7523 S. 95th St. But other than a new location, customers won't see any change in service, officials said.

The post office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays. It will accept bulk mailings between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. weekdays as it did at its former location at 7130 E. Point Douglas Road.

Customers who rent post office boxes will retain their same number and nobody will have to take a different size box, said Ken Smith, community services and communications coordinator for the city.

Post office officials said the move may improve package delivery.

"People might be able to pick up held packages a day earlier because they no longer will need to be moved between buildings," the post office said.
