Bird word

Bird word Introduced: Not as in "Nice to meet you." In the bird world, introduced refers to species that are not native. Think ring-necked pheasant or gray partridge. The pheasant is native from central Asia to southern China. The partridge calls most of Europe into central Siberia home. The chukar is another introduced species that's hunted in western states. Every once in a while, you may see a chukar in Minnesota. It's likely an escapee from a game farm.
