Armstrong sets TD mark

Tommy Armstrong Jr. set the Nebraska career record for touchdown passes (57). The fourth-year starting quarterback was presented the game ball in the locker room for his accomplishment. Armstrong also became only the second Cornhusker to throw for 7,000 yards in a career.

Super sophomore

One-man show

Wide receiver Janarion Grant had 249 all-purpose yards (119 on kick returns, 106 rushing, 24 receiving) and a career-high three touchdowns for Rutgers against Howard. Grant scored on runs of 58 and 21 yards and on an 84-yard kickoff return. He has returned five kickoffs for TDs in his career.
