The week ahead
No. 19 BYU at Michigan
11 a.m. Saturday
•Flash back to 1984, and this was the biggest matchup in BYU history. The Cougars beat the 6-5 Wolverines 24-17 in the Holiday Bowl, capping a 13-0 season and securing their only national championship. The teams meet for the first time since, and the stakes aren't nearly as high. But we'll see if BYU QB Tanner Mangum has a third Hail Mary in him.
Maryland at West Virginia
2 p.m. Saturday
•This regional rivalry — College Park is a 210-mile drive to Morgantown — has survived all the conference shifting. The Terps, who have changed starting QBs and have defensive issues, likely will need to win to have realistic bowl hopes.
