Big Ten East predictions: Buckeyes are best of The Big Three
Chip Scoggins' predicted order of finish (preseason AP rank included):
1. Ohio State (No. 2)
J.T. Barrett is back, defensive line is elite and Buckeyes are thinking championship.
2. Penn State (No. 6)
Saquon Barkley and Trace McSorley will be nightmare for defenses.
3. Michigan (No. 11)
Wolverines lost 11 players to NFL draft. That's a lot of holes to fill.
4. Michigan State
Spartans have much to prove after last season's three-win debacle. Still chasing top three.
5. Maryland
DJ Durkin is gifted recruiter but needs more time for blueprint to take shape.
6. Indiana
Hoosiers are respectable on defense. Scoring points was a problem last season.
7. Rutgers
Good luck Jerry Kill, new offensive coordinator. Scarlet Knights ranked last in FBS in total offense in '16.
