Volunteers are invited to help with the 10th annual Minnehaha Creek cleanup from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday.
More than 1,000 people are expected to help pick up trash along Minnehaha Creek in Minnetonka, St. Louis Park and Minneapolis and five area lakes, including Lake Hiawatha.
Following the cleanup, volunteers will gather at Lake Hiawatha Park, E. 46th Street and 28th Avenue S. in Minneapolis, for a lunch and celebration featuring prizes for most candy wrappers collected, most interesting story and most unusual item found.
The event’s headquarters will be at Lake Hiawatha Park.
Online registration for volunteers is closed, but walk-up registration will take place Sunday. For more information, go to tinyurl.com/zf8jaev.
