A 26-year-old man died after he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle in St. Paul.

James Moo, of St. Paul, had been hit near Warner Road and Hwy. 61 on Dec. 22, according to St. Paul police. He was transported to Regions Hospital where he died the next day.

On Dec. 22, police responded to a report of a crash around 6:30 p.m.

A woman who was driving the car that struck Moo remained at the scene and was cooperative, police said. She showed no signs of impairment and was not arrested. The crash is under investigation, police said.

A GoFundMe fundraiser was launched to help Moo’s family pay for funeral expenses.

On the page, titled “In Loving Memory of James Moo,” friend Rose Say wrote that Moo “was a source of kindness, laughter, and support to everyone who knew him. His presence could light up a room, and their compassion left a lasting mark on our lives.”

She went on to write: “Losing him has left an unimaginable hole in our hearts and in the lives of their family and friends.”

As of Wednesday night, nearly half the goal of $6,000 had been pledged.
