Angie Jackson of Bethel was named the MIAC Player of the Year in softball for the second time in her career. She also won the award in 2013.

Gustavus Adolphus' Sarah Rozell earned the Pitcher of the Year award, St. Catherine's Krista Flugstad the Rookie of the Year and Hamline's Jim Rubbelke the Coach of the Year.

Jackson led the Royals to their first-ever MIAC regular-season title. The senior shortstop from Oakdale, who played for North St Paul High School, ranked near the top of the conference in nearly every offensive category. She hit .394 overall and scored 37 runs and had 20 RBI.


• The Gophers men's tennis team earned four ITA Division I Central Region awards. Geoff Young was named Coach of the Year, Urban Ljubic Assistant Coach of the Year, Leandro Toledo the Most Improved Player of the Year among seniors and Matic Spec the Rookie of the Year. The national winners of these awards will be named Tuesday. … Gophers senior Tereza Brichacova was named the Central Region's Most Improved Player on the women's side.

• The Gophers softball team is ranked No. 11 in the ESPN/USA Softball poll this week and No 15 in the coaches' poll.

• Eric Lindquist resigned after 15 seasons as St. Mary's swimming and diving coach.

• Augustana earned the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference all-sports award for the third time in five years.
