Minnesota's selection of small, seasonal, old-fashioned lake resorts with cabins has been dwindling in the past decade, but you can still find these classic week-at-the-lake getaways. At Two Inlets Lake north of Park Rapids and south of Itasca State Park, there are three in a row, including Brookside Resort with an indoor/outdoor pool and gummy-worm sundaes (1-800-247-1615; brookside-resort.com), Two Inlets Resort with giant water toys that let siblings launch each other into the lake (1-218-699-3632; twoinlets.com) and Bear Paw Resort with water slides, stand-up paddleboards and unique campfire pits (1-218-732-9594; bearpawresort.com).
