The place isn't exactly terra incognita, but the secret of St. Paul's Crosby Farm is this: Whether you like to run around the lakes, along the river, on bike paths or trails, or up hills, at Crosby you can do them all in one place. On hot summer days, there are few running routes with more shade, and on early mornings in the cooler months there's an ethereal, almost bayou-like atmosphere. And if you're feeling adventurous, you can connect at either end of the park with a whole network of off-road paths that take you all the way to downtown St. Paul or Minneapolis … and beyond. strib.mn/crosbyfarm
