Bemidji State drops one spot to No. 8 after split with Gophers

The uscho.com national hockey poll is out and the Beavers remain in the top 10, but slip from No. 7 to 8 after a split at Mariucci Arena.

The uscho.com top 10:

1. Miami 8-1-3 ... Stay No. 1 despite two shootout losses to Ferris State which count as ties to NCAA

2. North Dakota 7-2-1 ... Lost 3-2 to St. Cloud State on Sat. because Huskies goalie Dan Dunn made 47 saves, loss ended 17-game home unbeaten streak

3. Denver 6-3-1 ... move up a spot being idle last weekend. Play Sioux this weekend

4. Mass-Lowell 7-2-1 ... swept Alabama Huntsville 3-1, 4-0

5. Cornell 4-1-0 ... lost to Yale 4-2, routed Brown 6-0

6. Michigan State 9-2-1 ... unbeaten in last seven games, swept Michigan 3-2, 2-0

7. Colorado College 7-2-1 ... surprise team in WCHA so far

8. Bemidji State 8-1-1 ... suprise team in nation so far, embarrassed Gophers 6-2 Sun.

9. Yale 2-1-2 ... win over Cornell outweighs early lost to RPI

10. Alaska Fairbanks 7-2-1 ... Coach Lucia's former school in top 10

Bottom 10: Wisconsin is No. 13 and UMD, Gophers' foe this weekend, is No. 20. 'Dogs spanked Michigan Tech 8-1 on Saturday. ... Gophers not receiving any votes but probably would have if they had swept BSU. Came into Sunday game 4-1 in last five games. Then took step back.
