Lone Star Spirits

Twin Cities audiences may remember a frothy comedy called "Crashing the Party" at Mixed Blood Theatre five years ago. That zesty show, which orbited a wacky modern family, was written by Josh Tobiessen and directed by Sarah Rasmussen. Five years later, the team — who happen to be married — are at it again with this comedy that makes its regional premiere Friday at the Jungle, where Rasmussen is now artistic director. Set in a small town in Texas where a young woman has returned so her family can meet her fiancé, it revolves around the souls of people trapped in a haunted liquor store. The cast includes Nate Cheeseman, Terry Hempleman and Christian Bardin. Drinks will actually be served on the set, created by Sarah Bahr. (7:30 p.m. Fri.-Sat., 2 & 7:30 p.m. Sun., 7:30 p.m. Tue.-Thu. Ends May 7. Jungle Theater, 2951 Lyndale Av. S., Mpls. $35-$45. 612-822-7063 or jungletheater.com)
