Beauty: Best Blowout Put the finishing touches on your Hollywood hair with the most intense (and efficient) blowout in town.
First, for the do-it-yourself option: No matter how hard you try, your hair never turns out as glamorous at home as it does at the salon. The hair experts at the Jon Charles Salons are trying to change that. At their recently opened second location, they're offering the popular and free "blow-dry boot camp," which teaches you how to use their patented boar-bristle round brushes (with easy-to-hold cork handles) to achieve the same look at home.
When you splurge on a professional blowout (instead of waiting for a full haircut), you'll be treated to a unique experience. Stylists, under the guidance of creative director Craig Weitz, use round brushes and work a section at a time and then leave the brush in place. Your head might be piled high with 10 to 25 brushes, which then act as hot rollers to fully set the style. You can buy the Euroshine brushes ($38 to $44 each, exclusively at Jon Charles salons), but they will show you how to achieve a similar look with two of them.
The result is dramatic tresses as seen on "The Hills": Hair has volume, movement and tons of shine. Most people can enjoy it for up to three days and even more, which translates into less tedious daily primping.
