Beasley improving but not 100 percent yet

Wolves prepare for Portland

January 16, 2011 at 9:42PM

Greetings.

There wasn't a whole lot going on at practice today, it wasn't very long and players were in a hurry. Some tidbits:

1.Beasley practiced again, is somewhat improved, but not 100 percent. "We'll see," Rambis said when asked about his status for Portland. Beasley is going on the trip, but I get the feeling he won't play tomorrow.

2. Corey Brewer was excused from practice for personal reasons. He will re-join the team in Portland.

3. I'm doing an item on the Wolves bench struggling in recent games. Talked to Rambis about it, but backup point guard Jonny Flynn, for the second time this week, declined to be interviewed about his recent play.

That's about it for today. Jerry will pick up the team tomorrow in Portland.

The Gophers played with more urgency, but it wasn’t enough to keep them from another conference sweep, and they lost LJ Mooney to injury in the process.
