DULUTH, Minn. - A business owner accused of selling illegal synthetic drugs has reopened his Duluth store following a raid that sent him in jail.
The store, Last Place on Earth, reopened Tuesday evening after owner Jim Carlson and his son, Joseph Gellerman, were released on bail.
As a customers lined up at the store, Carlson continued to defend the products he sells by citing customers who claim health benefits from synthetic drugs.
The 55-year-old Carlson and his 34-year-old son appeared in St. Louis County District Court Monday on charges resulting from Friday's raid at the store. The two are charged with four counts of selling controlled substances.
The Duluth News Tribune ( http://bit.ly/Zztq440) says prosecutors' analysis of the synthetics determined it was an illegal stimulant under state law.
