OUT OF THE BLUE

The world's highest-grossing movie, "Avatar," arrives today on DVD and Blu-ray (Fox, $30-$40). Although 3-D helped the film become a hit in theaters, the home version won't come in that format. No extras, either -- the filmmakers say they want to devote all of the discs' space to the audio-video presentation. Expect a souped-up special edition in time for the holidays.
