LE SUEUR, MINN. – An autopsy has confirmed that a camper from Le Sueur who went missing at the beginning of this month drowned in the Minnesota River in south-central Minnesota.
Searchers found the body of 20-year-old Moriah Zwart on May 6, six days after she went missing while camping along the river with a 20-year-old friend.
John Berg, the Le Sueur County medical examiner, said Zwart had a blood alcohol level of more than 0.08 percent, the legal limit for driving. Tests for medications or other drugs won't come back for several weeks.
Sheriff Dave Tietz declined to give details about the investigation, but he said nobody has been charged or cited.
Asked if the supplier of the alcohol was part of his investigation, he replied, "possibly."
