Marcus LeVesseur, who roared through his college wrestling career at Augsburg undefeated, has been added to the Ultimate Fighting Championship card on Oct. 5 at Target Center in Minneapolis, UFC organizers announced Tuesday.
LeVesseur, 30, will meet Carlo Prater in a lightweight (155 pounds) bout. LeVesseur lost in his UFC debut in May to Cody McKenzie. His overall mixed martial arts record is 21-6 over nine years.
While wrestling for Div. III Augsburg, LeVesseur won four NCAA titles. He now trains at The Cellar Kickboxing Academy in nearby St. Anthony.
The Oct. 5 card marks UFC's first return to Target Center in four years. Heavyweights Travis "Hapa" Browne and Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva will fill the headline evening. The card will be telecast live on the FX network.
