Lively music and information about library services await senior citizens at Silver Teas in May at the Dakota County libraries.

The free events, with refreshments provided, begin with a performance by Bob Bovee and Gail Heil at the Inver Glen Library, 8098 Blaine Av. in Inver Grove Heights, from 2-3 p.m. on May 1. Bovee and Heil will perform dance tunes, ballads and cowboy songs with fiddle, banjo, guitar and harmonica.

Other performances at Silver Teas across the county during May will feature bluegrass, accordion music, steel drums and folk music.

'Gallery Gala' for Arts Council is Friday

The Hastings-Prescott Area Arts Council is planning its first "Gallery Gala" fundraiser from 6-9 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church Events Center, 2035 W. 15th St. in Hastings.

Bertrand and Margaret Goderstad of Hastings and Mike Erie of Prescott will be honored during the event for their efforts in promoting the arts. Music will be provided throughout the evening, and there will be an appetizer buffet and beer and wine. Silent and live auctions also are planned, with items donated by businesses and residents.

Tickets are $50, but space is limited. Call Jessica at 651-437-7055 to reserve tickets or stop by the LeDuc Historic Estate in Hastings. Tickets also may be ordered by mail by making a check payable to HPAAC Gallery Gala and sending it to the LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion St., Hastings, MN 55033.
