Author Dean Urdahl will present a program on "Pursuit," the third book in a series he has written on the Dakota Conflict of 1862, during the Dakota County Historical Society's annual meeting on Saturday.

Urdahl will speak at noon, following a business meeting that begins at 11 a.m., at the Lawshe Memorial Museum, 130 3rd Av. N. in South St. Paul.

Next community book read in worksLakeville residents participating in the city's fourth annual "One Book, One Lakeville" reading program will be reading "Waking: A Memoir of Trauma and Transcendence," by Matthew Sanford.
The book is a memoir about Sanford's journey after suffering paralysis in a car crash. It details how he began teaching yoga and became a leading voice in the movement toward integrated health.
A month's worth of events are scheduled during the program, ranging from yoga classes to writing workshops, along with the usual book discussions. The main event is scheduled for 7-9 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Lakeville Area Arts Center, featuring Sanford and singer-songwriter Leslie Ball. 'Winter Jackets' begins TuesdayDakota County libraries are sponsoring "Winter Jackets," their 11th annual adult reading program, beginning Tuesday and running through Feb. 29 at all branch libraries.
The program encourages adults to curl up with a good book and attend author programs featuring:
