Apple Valley Live! Theatre Company will present “Twelfth Night” through its “Uponor Shakespeare Under The Stars” series starting Saturday.
The shows from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kelley Park, 6855 Fortino St., are free. Performances will be staged Saturday and Sunday evenings during the first two weekends in August, and Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings the last three weekends of the month.
The event is co-hosted by the Apple Valley Arts Foundation and the city.

‘Barefoot in the Park’ comes to Arts Center
Expressions Community Theater will present Neil Simon’s “Barefoot in the Park,” starting Friday and running through Aug. 9 at the Lakeville Area Arts Center, 20965 Holyoke Av.
Tickets are $13. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 7 and 8, and at 2 p.m. on Aug. 2 and 9.

Watercolors and wine set for Wednesday
“Watercolor Mountain,” is the theme of the Wine & Designs event from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Lakeville Area Arts Center, 20965 Holyoke Av.
The event is for those age 21 and over. The cost is $36, which includes supplies and two glasses of wine.

Author fair seeks local writers
The Dakota County Library is looking for 40 local authors, illustrators, publishers and literary agents to take part in its Local Author Fair on Nov. 14.
Authors and publishers must submit an application and a copy of a published work by 5 p.m. Aug. 14. Materials can be e-mailed to tami.richardson@co.dakota.mn.us or sent to any Dakota County Library branch. Those chosen will be notified by Aug. 31.
The fair will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Western Service Center atrium, 14955 Galaxie Av. in Apple Valley.
Libraries host craft fairs with kids’ art
The Dakota County Library is hosting craft fairs at branch libraries to feature the work of children ages 4 to 16. All items are priced at $2 or less.
The craft fairs will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following locations: Monday at Heritage Library in Lakeville, Thursday at Pleasant Hill Library in Hastings, Aug. 5 at Wescott Library in Eagan, Aug. 11 at Galaxie Library in Apple Valley, and Aug. 13 at Robert Trail Library in Rosemount.
Learn arts and crafts at library workshops
The Dakota County Library also is offering a series of arts and crafts classes for people 16 and older.
The series runs through August and includes classes on Native American beading arts, making coiled baskets, batiks, Japanese book binding and macramé jewelry.
The first two classes are Creative Cookies, from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Robert Trail Library in Rosemount and instruction in sumingashi — using floating ink to make patterns that can be transferred to paper — from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 5 at Wentworth Library in West St. Paul.
