The Arizona Coyotes signed former Wild goalie Darcy Kuemper to a two-year contract extension Thursday, a day after acquiring him from the Los Angeles Kings. Financial terms were not disclosed.

"The Coyotes have a young and talented team and a very bright future ahead," said Kuemper, 27, in a team statement. "I'm excited to be a part of it and can't wait to contribute."

Kuemper was 10-1-3 with a 2.10 goals-against average and three shutouts in 19 games for the Kings this season, and was 41-34-14 with a 2.60 GAA in five years with the Wild. He will team in goal with Coyotes starter Antti Raanta.

Florida 3, Washington 2: Vincent Trocheck scored the winning goal with 19.1 seconds left to lift the Panthers over the Capitals in Sunrise, Fla., hours after victims of last week's shooting at nearby Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School were honored with a somber video tribute.

Buffalo 3, Detroit 2 (OT): Former Wild defenseman Marco Scandella scored with one second left in overtime, lifting the Sabres over the host Red Wings.

Toronto 4, N.Y. Islanders 3 (SO): Tyler Bozak scored the shootout winner and the host Maple Leafs edged the Islanders. Auston Matthews tipped in Jake Gardiner's shot to tie it 3-3 with 3:29 remaining in the third period but later left the game favoring his right side after taking a hit from Cal Clutterbuck and did not return.

Edmonton 3, Colorado 2 (OT): Connor McDavid scored at 2:19 of overtime and had an assist to lead the host Oilers past the Avalanche.

Nashville 7, San Jose 1: Pekka Rinne made 33 saves in his 300th career victory and the host Predators routed the Sharks.

Notes

• Canadiens defenseman Shea Weber will miss the rest of the season because of a foot injury that will require surgery.

• The Devils acquired speedy winger Michael Grabner from the Rangers in the first trade between the cross-river rivals. New Jersey sends a 2018 second-round draft pick and 20-year-old defensive prospect Yegor Rykov to New York.
