Gordon Hayward and Brad Stevens, who were a couple of inches from winning an NCAA championship together at Butler, are reunited. Hayward, the top remaining free agent in this summer's NBA class, announced Tuesday night that he's signing with Boston.

A person with knowledge of the negotiations said Hayward agreed to leave Utah for a four-year contract with a value of about $128 million.

Butler, with Stevens coaching, lost the NCAA title game to Duke on a near miss by Hayward as time expired.

"That unfinished business we had together … all of these years later, we still have it: And that's to win a championship," Hayward wrote.

Niederreiter files for arbitration

Wild restricted free agent Nino Niederreiter has filed for arbitration, two sources said.

Contract negotiations have begun between the Wild and Niederreiter. Filing for arbitration at least assures no holdout. Niederreiter's last contract — three years, $8 million — wasn't signed until shortly before the 2014 training camp.

Niederreiter, 24, scored a career-high 25 goals and 57 points last season.
