PGA: The Riviera field is the strongest of the year, with eight of the top 10 players in the world. Adam Scott and Sergio Garcia are playing in the United States for the first time this year, and Garcia is coming off a victory in Dubai. ... Dustin Johnson and Hideki Matsuyama each have a mathematical chance to replace Jason Day at No. 1 in the world by winning, depending on how Day plays.

LPGA: Lydia Ko makes her 2017 debut this week with a new coach, a new caddie and new clubs. Her last victory was in July. She shot 71 in Thursday's first round.

Champions Tour: Bernhard Langer is a three-time winner in Naples. He had nine consecutive top-10 finishes on the tour until he tied for 37th last week.
