If there needed to be a reason to indulge in local beer, Hops for Hunger provided it.

The microbrew tasting event, the third annual sponsored by Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA), offered samples from 16 Twin Cities area breweries. Guests were treated to limitless tastings throughout the evening at the Solar Arts Building in northeast Minneapolis.

In between filling their glasses, they placed bids in the silent auction, enjoyed live music and snacked on food by Chowgirls Catering. The fundraiser benefited the SACA food shelf, which fed 6,000 families last year.
