June 3, 1993: First-round draft pick (20th overall) by the Twins.

Aug. 27, 1997: Made major league debut as a pinch runner.

May 1, 1998: Got first major league hit, a single off Arthur Rhodes at Camden Yards.

April 15, 1999: Hit first career homer off Brian Moehler at Tiger Stadium.

April 26, 1999: Hit his first home run at the Metrodome off Boston's Tim Wakefield. It was a two-out grand slam in the bottom of the fourth inning, with Hunter hitting ninth in the lineup.

2001: At age 25, won the first of nine straight American League Gold Glove Awards for his prowess in center field. Also the year he reached the majors to stay; he spent 55 games the previous season in the minors.

April 1, 2002: Ran down a ball hit by Neifi Perez to end a game in Kansas City, giving Ron Gardenhire his first win as a MLB manager.

2002: Selected to the first of five All-Star Games. Starting in center field for the AL, he robbed Barry Bonds of a first-inning home run when he scaled the wall at Milwaukee's Miller Park.

July 29, 2005: Broke his left ankle trying to make a play on a deep fly ball hit by David Ortiz at Fenway Park, causing him to miss the rest of the season. He was leading the team in home runs (14) and RBI (56) at the time of the injury.

2006: Hit a career-high 31 home runs as the Twins won their fourth AL Central title.

Nov. 22, 2007: Signed a $90 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels after playing 1,234 regular-season games with the Twins.

June 13, 2009: Hit three home runs — all solo shots — against San Diego. Won his ninth straight (and last) Gold Glove.

Nov. 16, 2012: Signed a two-year, $26 million contract with Detroit.

June 16, 2013: Hit his 300th career home run off the Twins' P.J. Walters at Target Field. He finished 2013 with a career-high 184 hits.

Dec. 3, 2014: Signed a one-year, $10.5 million deal to return to the Twins.
