Shave and a haircut, two bits? Not at a new St. Louis Park salon that caters to men.

At Eighteen Eight (18|8), guys get much more — such as "man-icures," scalp treatments and facials.

The new salon is the latest iteration of masculine grooming and proof that more men are stepping into exclusive salons for manscaping services. Everything from the salon's shampoos to its lounge-area magazine selections were chosen specifically for a male clientele. The stylists specialize in working with men and several of the 18|8 services are truly man-specific, including the $27 classic shave (featuring a hot towel, hot lather and straight-edge razor) and beard coloring.

The salon's owner, Ross Bowen, opened the franchise location at Excelsior and Grand, and has plans to open two more locations in the Twin Cities.

Eighteen Eight Fine Men's Salon: 4612 Excelsior Blvd., St. Louis Park, 952-681-2988. www.eighteeneight.com.
