NEWARK, N.J. – Artem Anisimov scored on a rebound at 1:15 of overtime and the Chicago Blackhawks rallied to beat New Jersey 3-2 on Friday night, handing the Devils their first home loss.

"The puck came to me in the right position, and I just put it in," Anisimov said.

Marian Hossa tied the score with a power-play goal with 2:11 left in regulation after the Blackhawks pulled goaltender Corey Crawford for a sixth skater.

"Time was running out and 6-on-4 is a pretty dangerous look," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. "Fortunately, we had a quick little play at the net. We had an ordinary 5-on-4 and it was running out, and I still figured with 2½ [minutes] or two and change, you'd like that 6-on-4."

P.A. Parenteau and John Moore scored for New Jersey, which was 3-0 at home.

Carolina 3, N.Y. Rangers 2: Jeff Skinner had two goals and an assist for the host Hurricanes. Skinner originally had his fifth career hat trick before the third goal was given to Bryan Bickell on a scoring change. Still, Skinner's 16th career three-point night helped the Hurricanes win their home opener.

Winnipeg 1, Colorado 0: Shawn Matthias scored in the second period against his former team, Michael Hutchinson stopped 37 shots for his third career NHL shutout and the Jets won in Denver.

Calgary 5, Ottawa 2: Dougie Hamilton scored his first two goals and added an assist to lead the host Flames past the Senators for their third consecutive victory.

Edmonton 2, Vancouver 0: Connor McDavid scored on a breakaway and Cam Talbot made 26 saves for his 13th career shutout as the visiting Oilers won their fifth in a row. At 7-1, Edmonton is off to its best start since 1985.

Notes

Pastrnak suspended: Bruins forward David Pastrnak was suspended for two games without pay for an illegal check to the head of Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi. Pastrnak is eligible to return Thursday.
