Opening Saturday: Summer's warm light and gala colors are captured for all seasons in the glass sculpture and paintings featured in Grand Hand Gallery's new show. Glass artists Jim and Renee Engebretson are known for their dynamic, confetti-colored vases and bowls, as shown here. Their new work includes more sculptural pieces by Jim, and monoprints incorporating photographic imagery by Renee. In her radiant sheets of color, painter Jantje Visscher fashions layers of painted fiberglass into moiré-patterned designs that suggest perspective illusions and pure abstraction, too. Visscher will also be showing a series of elegant, smaller-scale pieces suggestive of kites.
