St. Paul Art Crawl

This weekend: The leaves are barely turning and already the artists are thinking of hibernation, gathering in their summer bounty of creativity and preparing to show and sell it all before the snow flies. More than 300 of them in 24 buildings, mostly in St. Paul's Lowertown, will open their studios for the semiannual ritual of display and divestment. You've got the money; they've got the goods — thousands of paintings, drawings, photos, handmade pots, furnishings, bracelets and necklaces, pretty things to wear and share. Greta Sandquist painted the bright-eyed bird shown here. There will be music, performances, food and drink. (6-10 p.m. Fri.; noon-8 p.m. Sat.; noon-5 p.m. Sun. Free. Info at www.artcrawl.org)
