Pretty much everybody who's anybody or aspires to be a player in the local art scene has jumped at the opportunity to throw a little love and (hopefully) raise a lot of cash for SooVAC, Lyndale Avenue's spunky nonprofit showroom for young talent, offbeat aesthetics and aspiring scenesters. The event promises "amazing art, people, food and drink," of course, plus good vibes from DJ Black Lacquer sweetened with treats from Bryant-Lake Bowl, ChinDian Cafe and Gigi's Café. More than 40 artists have donated work for the silent auction, including Amelia Biewald, Andrea Carlson, Jennifer Davis, Clea Felien, Simon Huelsbeck, Alex Kuno, John Largaespada, Chris Larson, Rob McBroom, MouseSaw, Terrence Payne, Joseph Rizzo, Areca Roe, Sean Smuda, Karl Unnasch and John Vogt. Emily Bennett Beck painted "Whitney vowed they'd pay for what they'd done," shown here.
