MADE IN MINNESOTA

Reception Saturday: Out with the pumpkins, goblins and ghosts. In with the holiday tree ornaments. Yes. Even before the votes are in, Minnesota artists are trolling for holiday dollars. They figure you may need a pleasant diversion in this overwrought election season, as well as some inexpensive, handmade gifts for those friends, neighbors, teachers and office pals on your list. More than 25 Minnesota artists have made ornaments in ceramic, metal, fibers, polymer, fused glass, paper and other decorative materials. All are miniature artworks on myriad themes from hearts and doves, angels and animals, snowmen, fish, birds, fruits and nuts. Many of the artists will be on hand for the reception and there's a 10 percent discount all day. Prices: $4 and up. (Reception 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat., free. Clay Squared to Infinity, 34 13th Av. NE., Mpls. Show and sale ends Dec. 23, free. 612-781-6409 or www.claysquared.com.)
