Opening: Fifteen MFA students at Minneapolis College of Art and Design are showing their latest creations in a "Get stARTed" exhibition designed to test their professional mettle. The students were challenged to do everything required in a professional setting: make the art; ship, install and price it; draft their résumés and any explanatory statements, negotiate for space and placement with gallery director Jennifer Phelps; and show up at the opening tonight looking totally cool and way too urbane and sophisticated for Minneapolis. The 15 participants are Sherri Days, Luke Ellison, Danielle Feliciano, Vadim Gershman, Chungli Huang, Zhongze Lu, Lindsey Martin, Molly May, Greta McLain, Jack Pavlik, Kayla Plosz, Nicole DeLee Sanders, Li Zeng, Lea Devon Sorrentino and Amit Tishler. Now they're just waiting for mobs of fans to show up, gush praise and write big career-launching checks. Go for it!
