CURSTER'S DOLLMIGHTY FASHION SHOW

Saturday: Minneapolis artist Erin Currie makes her runway debut with a sassy show of new fashions that promise a "perfect mixture of coquette, Victorian princess and Tank Girl." Who could resist? Especially when backgrounded by a display of Currie's sculptural toys inspired by Scandinavian myths, cartoonish monsters and bug-eyed yetis. Just in time for holiday parties, she will offer a line of deeply ruffled taffeta frocks in bruised-berry tones, T-shirts emblazoned with her signature dollies, feathered helmets and ruched bonnets of netting and ribbon. Plus lacy embroidered sweaters, hoodies and glam mukluks. With her Kewpie-doll lips and striped legs, Currie cultivates an over-the-top cuteness that's mad, bad and maybe even dangerous to know. Fun stuff. (7 p.m. Sat., $10. Soo Visual Arts Center, 2640 Lyndale Av. S., Mpls. 612-871-2263 or www.soovac.org)
