St. Paul painter and muralist Ta-coumba T. Aiken has dedicated his life and career to creating art that lifts the heart and heals the spirit. On Tuesday he'll take to the stage in a novel interactive "art and music improvisation" during which he will collaborate with the Improvestra music ensemble featuring New York composer and violinist Jason Kao Hwang. Members are current McNally Smith College of Music students and faculty, recent alumni and other area musicians. The festive performance marks the 25th anniversary of McNally Smith and the launch of a 20-piece retrospective of Aiken's paintings.
