This weekend: OK, pottery buffs, this is the Big Weekend when top clay people from around the country converge at the Northern Clay Center for a three-day celebration and sale of all things glazed (except doughnuts). Besides artist workshops, demonstrations and slide shows, there will be talks on everything from "Supporting Curved Forms in the Kiln" to "Careers in Clay." Enthusiasts can take "adventure tours" to private and museum collections, artists' studios and the home of celebrated Minnesota potter Warren MacKenzie. Sale participants include 50 gallery artists and 24 guest talents from around the country, including the fancifully named Birdie Boone and Sunshine Cobb, plus Ron Meyers, whose angry-bird cup is shown here. (Opening party and sale 5-9 p.m. Fri., $25. Events 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat., 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Sun., $5-$300. Northern Clay Center, 2424 Franklin Av. S., Mpls. 612-339-8007 or www.northernclaycenter.org)
