A Winter’s Tale: Visual Tidings from 7 Artists

Continuing: For this intimate and diverse holiday show, gallery owner Todd Bockley combined artists who prize strong design and vibrant color. Several are Minnesotans, some have American Indian heritage, and others are simply longtime gallery affiliates whose bold, heartfelt work appeals to Bockley. The featured work includes a quilt by Gees Bend artist Mary Lee Bendolph, beaded deer hide abstractions by Glen Hanson, a painted totem by Lelooska (1933-96), painting and sculpture by John Snyder, collages by Frank Bigbear, a canvas by Norval Morriseau (1932-2007), and “Red Rock,” a classic 1955 abstract painting by George Morrison (1919 -2000), shown here.
