Jason Apgar’s 25-yard field as time expired lifted host Minnesota Duluth to a 17-14 victory over Minnesota State Mankato on Saturday.

Apgar’s third field goal of the game capped a 14-play, 80-yard drive which began with 6:19 remaining.

Jacob Eggert’s 8-yard TD run and two-point conversion run gave UMD a 14-7 lead 65 seconds into the fourth quarter.

The Mavericks answered immediately, tying the score on the first play of the ensuing possession as TreShawn Watson caught a 61-yard TD pass from Maximus Sims.

Minnesota State Moorhead 45, Winona State 21: Jack Strand threw for 372 yards and four touchdowns as the host Dragons (3-0) pulled away from the Warriors. The Dragons led 24-14 after three quarters before Strand threw two TD passes in the first two minutes of the fourth. Tyson Brandt’s 34-yard TD run made it 44-14 with six minutes remaining.

Concordia (St. Paul) 27, Minot State 21: Troy Ellison caught a 32-yard TD pass from Lincoln Graf with 3 minutes, 24 seconds remaining to break a tie and lift the visiting Golden Bears to their first victory of the season. Graf passed for 275 yards and three scores.

Sioux Falls 56, Bemidji State 23: Camden Dean passed for 273 yards and four TDs and rushed for a touchdown as the Cougars beat the host Beavers. Dean threw three first-half TDs as Sioux Falls (3-0) opened a 28-7 halftime lead. Antonio Brown rushed for 98 yards and a TD for Bemidji State (0-3).

Augustana 21, Mary 20: Augustana scored two TDs in the final five minutes to rally in Bismarck, N.D. After scoring with 4:32 remaining to pull within 20-14, the Vikings got the ball back at their own 16-yard line with 55 seconds. Gunnar Hensley’s 19-yard TD pass to Cody Oswald and the PAT with 17 seconds remaining gave the Vikings the lead.

Southwest Minnesota State 12, Jamestown 7: The Mustangs ended a 12-game losing streak with a victory in Jamestown, N.D.

St. John’s 49, Minnesota Morris 0: Caden Wheeler ran for two touchdowns and Trey Feeney threw two TD passes as the Johnnies, ranked No. 5 in the D3Football.com poll, opened their season with a shutout of the visiting Cougars.

Bethel 50, Northwestern (St. Paul) 3: Cooper Drews threw for 320 yards and four TDs and Taye Manns rushed for 117 yards and a TD as the host Royals won the first home night game in program history, beating the Eagles.

Martin Luther 34, Luther 0: Brady Turriff passed for 243 yards and two TDs and Arthur Robinson rushed for 104 yards and a score for the host Knights.

Simpson 45, Crown 7: Jayden Thoreson passed for 235 yards and five TDs to pace the Storm past the host Polars in St. Bonifacius.
