Jordan Hein threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score and Tahi Nomane rushed for three touchdowns to pace Bemidji State to a 45-17 victory over Minnesota State Mankato, ranked No. 4 in Division II, on Saturday in Mankato.
The loss ended a streak of 18 consecutive victories against NSIC North Division teams for the Mavericks.
Hein completed 25 of 36 passes for 306 yards as the Beavers (2-0) built a 24-0 lead midway through the second quarter.
The Beavers outgained the Mavericks 563-352 and had 30 first downs.
Minnesota Duluth 34, Winona State 31: Drew Bauer’s 10-yard TD pass to Darren Walker with 4:33 left lifted the host Bulldogs past the Warriors. Winona State had trailed 27-19 at halftime but took a 31-27 lead into the fourth quarter.

St. Cloud State 27, Upper Iowa 20: Nate Meyer passed for 303 yards and three touchdowns — two to Jameson Parsons — to lead the Huskies to victory in Fayette, Iowa. The Peacocks tied the score at 13 early in the third quarter, but Collin Radowicz’s 4-yard TD run and Meyer’s 40-yard TD pass to John Pass gave the Huskies a 27-13 lead.
Augustana 63, Mary 0: The Vikings, ranked No. 19 in Division II, limited the host Marauders to 85 yards in offense en route to an interdivision victory in Bismarck, N.D. Trey Heid, a senior from Lakeville North, passed for 339 yards and four TDs for the Vikings (2-0).
