Labor Day is coming, and in connection with that I'd like to talk people who've been unemployed for six months or longer, or who are involuntarily working part-time or in lesser paying jobs.
Why? More than 5 million people out of work more than a year and nearly 2 million of those have exhausted all jobless benefits. President Obama's new head of the Council of Economic Advisors is a labor specialist, and Obama is reportedly set to unveil a new job creation program. Meanwhile, the federal extension of unemployment benefits is set to expire at the end of this year, and some believe that unemployment benefits discourage people from looking for work.
