Apple Valley beats No. 4 Eastview in boys' soccer sections
Senior Parker Jamison earned his eighth shutout for Apple Valley (7-6-3), which has won five consecutive games. The two teams tied 2-2 during the regular season. It was the first loss of the season for Eastview (13-1-4).
Rosemount 1, Eagan 0: In the other Section 3 semifinal, the sixth-seeded Irish upset the second-seeded Wildcats.
Holy Family 1, Willmar 0 (OT): Sophomore attacker Dan Parker scored the lone goal on a header off a corner kick in overtime as the Fire eliminated the Cardinals in the Class 1A, Section 6 quarterfinals.
Girls' soccer
Chanhassen 2, Prior Lake 1 (OT): Claire Shea scored the game-winning goal 59 seconds into overtime. The Storm, the No. 3 seed, advanced to the semifinals of the Section 2AA playoffs. With less than three minutes left in regulation, Sophie Pawlyshyn tied the score for Chanhassen off a deflection of her own corner kick. The Storm will play Minnetonka in the next round. The Skippers defeated Bloomington Jefferson 2-0.
Edina 4, Chaska 0: Sophomore Sophia Boman had a hat trick to lead the Hornets past the Hawks. She had three goals throughout the regular season. Senior Olivia Michel added the other goal for Edina. The Hornets, the No. 1 seed in the Section 2AA playoffs, will play Eden Prairie in the semifinals.
Minneapolis Washburn 2, Minneapolis Southwest 0: Charlotte DeVaughn and Hannah Heinemann both scored to lead the Millers, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A, to the Section 6AA semifinals.
Trinity 7, Minneapolis Roosevelt 1: Anna Frenz led the Tri Hawks with four goals and two assists while Samantha Robbins had a hat trick.
